Visbreaker Unit
This unit has the capacity of 27,300 B/D of vacuum bottom which comes from vacuum distillation unit. Under the thermal cracking process, heavy molecules of vacuum residue are cracked in this unit and are converted to tar which is a product with lower viscosity.
This process helps to reduce consumption of middle distillate products that are used for improving the viscosity of the fuel oil. The other byproducts of this unit are the low quality gasoline and fuel gas which are consumed as the refinery fuel.
